Late December 2010, I was gladly invited for a trip to the old Hanseatic city of Lübeck for its popular Christmas market. However, the actual attraction was the historical Trans Europ Express train. This was a real adventure, since it was truly cold those days, and while most other (modern) railway traffic faced weather-related troubles, our old-timer engine was always just in time. Which was especially valuable on the return ride, as it got even colder in the evening.
