Limited paradise

Nowadays, most of the Maldives is considered doomed, due to changing climate and increasing sea level. However, back in 1990, when I went there for a visit, neither was there much talk about such topics, nor would you have noticed any evidence. These images were taken on conventional (reversal) film, which explains both the fairly preserved colors, yet also the partly too high contrasts. Much of it could be remedied with digital processing, however, time has demanded some tolls within over two decades.
