Most dutch central stations have recently been (or are still to be) rebuilt, mostly as “OV terminals” (public transport hubs) in order to provide contemporary and efficient connections and also take with the constantly increasing passenger load. Those works mostly result in (amazingly) futuristic buildings, Nijmegen’s station instead preserves much of the legacy construction and integrates modern elements.

Note the (nice and colorful) public piano to the right. It has been vandalized few weeks after I took this image.
